IRIS HOUSE, is a group home program designed to provide a safe and supportive living environment for youth that are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ). Many young people have previously experienced difficulty (at home or in placement) due to their gender expression or sexual identities. IRIS HOUSE offers young people a safe environment to live while they prepare for family reunification, independent living and future self-sufficiency.
IRIS HOUSE will be located in Long Beach, California. The program will offer 24-hour staffing, and the house will be large enough to provide a comfortable home like feeling.The program serves LGBTQ youth (12-17 years old) who are in need of a safe and nurturing environment in order to reintegrate back into the community and/ or family setting.
